Timber Fencing Rail

Wearside fencing is one of the North East’s leading supplier for timber and timber fencing rails. We pride ourselves on providing high quality timber at very competitive prices. We also try to hold as much stock as we possibly to ensure we can supply our customers in as short a lead time as possible.

If, for what ever reason, we haven’t got the specific size of timber rail that the customer requires we will either manufacture it ourselves or order it in from our local suppliers. Either way the delivery would still be extremely fast.

The rails themselves are sawn from green or brown timber (dependant on the customers needs) in varying length and widths. We usually keep the thickness of the rails at around 1 ½ inches because we’ve found that it’s a very popular size and is very reliable when it comes to strength and durability.

All of the timber used to make our timber rails are tanalised and pressure treated to ensure it is extremely weather resistant. This process also wards off insect infestation such as wood worn etc.

Hints and tips

Wearside fencing has acquired many years of experience dealing with timber fencing and we hope these hints and tips will help in the construction of your very own fence.

For fencing up to 4ft in height (above ground) you should use 2 No 12ft rails, for heights in excess of 4ft it is best to use at least 3 No rails for extra support and strength. (We recommend 12ft rails because the posts should always be approx 6ft apart. Please see the section on Timber Posts)

Try and keep the top rail as close to the top of the posts and board line as possible to reduce the chance of the boards warping when they are secured.

If you have followed these simple basic hints and tips the fence should be well on its way. If you do require any further assistance please don’t hesitate to Contact Us
